Becoming the Light: What I Know for Sure
There are moments in life when everything falls apart.
When the marriage ends.
When the business you built is taken from you.
When the people you thought would show up… don’t.
When your titles vanish, your savings disappear, and the silence becomes deafening.
If you're in that moment—maybe unemployed, maybe rebuilding, maybe just emotionally tired—you’re not alone.
I know what it feels like to have nothing left but your will to keep going. And I want to tell you something right now:
You are not broken. You are becoming.
My Name Is Amen Dadwal
I'm a resume strategist, a mother, and a woman who's had to build—not just businesses, but my entire identity—from the rubble of abandonment, betrayal, and loss.
I didn’t grow up with safety nets or backup plans.
I learned to become the safety net—for everyone else.
My father couldn’t be present when I was a child, and my mother carried the full weight of raising us on her own. As the eldest of three, I stepped in where I was needed—helping her build her beauty business, Elegance Studio, while being a second parent to my younger siblings.
Even as a child, I led in silence.
Even then, I knew what it meant to sacrifice.
But I also knew what it meant to build.
A Lifeline Called Resume Ninjas
At 13, I started writing resumes—first for friends, family, and community members who didn’t know how to speak their truth on paper. I was obsessed with the power of storytelling, and even more obsessed with helping people see themselves clearly again.
That love grew into my company, Resume Ninjas—a business that, decades later, is now my lifeline, my livelihood, and my legacy.

Through Resume Ninjas, I’ve helped thousands of clients—Not just career professionals—but stay-at-home parents, caregivers, trauma survivors, newcomers and immigrants, single parents, creatives, late bloomers, lost souls—transform their lived experience into marketable, magnetic, ATS-optimized resumes.
But more than that… I help people reclaim their power.
When I Lost Everything (And Gained Myself)
Later in life, I co-founded a carpet cleaning company—The Blind Carpet Cleaner—for my then-husband, a man who was slowly losing his vision and, with it, his will to live.
I created the brand.
I built the systems.
I told our story online—vulnerably, publicly, and with love.
And in many ways, it saved him.
It saved us… until it didn’t.
Today, I’m in the thick of a divorce.
The business? Taken.
The vision I built? Denied.
And still, I rise.
For Anyone Who’s Ever Had Something Taken From Them
If you're questioning your worth right now—because of a layoff, a divorce, a relocation, a loss, or just the slow wear and tear of life—I see you.
Maybe you've been out of work for years, raising children.
Maybe you're recovering from trauma or starting over in a new country.
Maybe you’re standing in the rubble of something you thought would last forever.
This is what I want you to know:
You are not starting from scratch. You are starting from experience.
And that experience—your pain, your grit, your wisdom—it matters.
You just need someone to help you see it again.
That’s where I come in.
What I Do: Resumes for the Soul
Resume Ninjas isn’t just a service—it’s a sanctuary.
I don’t just edit documents.
I help people remember who they are.
I specialize in:
Career pivots + returns to work
Life-after-divorce or trauma
Helping the overlooked, the underestimated, the late bloomers
Giving voice to non-linear paths, gaps, and resilience
Resume and LinkedIn strategies rooted in clarity, confidence, and compassion
Yes, my resumes are ATS-optimized, modern, and strategic.
But they’re also soul-centered.
I begin with your story.
I find the places you’ve hidden your power.
I build from there.
Because you deserve to feel proud when you submit that application.
To walk into that interview and say: “I’ve already survived the hard part. Now I’m ready to rise.”
How I’m Healing, Too
This isn’t a “look at me now” story. This is a “look at me still going” story.
Right now, I’m still rebuilding. Still parenting through pain. Still learning to trust myself. Still showing up for my clients while fighting for what was taken from me.
Healing is not a straight line—it’s a layered, winding path that I walk every day with intention.
With Doug West at DRW Neuroperformance — I’m retraining my nervous system and rewiring trauma, learning to sit with the silence instead of fearing it, to respond rather than react, and to feel safe in my body again.
With Nav at Iron Ascension Garage (IG: @ironascensiongarage) — I’m rebuilding my strength and stamina through personal training that reminds me: I can carry heavy things—and I don’t have to carry them alone.
With Amrita Ahuja at Groundwork — I’m learning to root myself, to slow down, to release urgency and show up in alignment with who I truly am—not who I had to become to survive.
With Jessica Marola-Hugh at StoryWell Marketing — I’m reclaiming my voice and redefining my path, pivoting my business from a place of truth. No more shrinking to fit. Only expansion from the inside out.
With Dr. Navi Jagpal at South Surrey Chiropractic and Wellness — I’m reconnecting with my physical body, aligning my spine and spirit, releasing the tension I didn’t even know I was holding.
And through it all—my son, my light, my reason, my reminder of what unconditional love looks like. Being his mother has taught me what it means to choose peace over pride, softness over survival. His laugh heals places I didn’t know were broken.
My family—especially my parents, who once had so little but gave me everything they could. They showed me resilience in motion. And now, they help me rise from the ashes with quiet strength and unwavering love.
My sister, who reminds me that strength doesn’t always roar—sometimes, it’s soft and steady. She holds me accountable to the woman I’m becoming, while loving every version I’ve been. She’s the quiet echo of my courage when I forget how far I’ve come—the one who sees the light in me, even when it flickers.
My brother, who became the man of the house far too young. Brilliant with numbers, quietly taking on burdens no one asked him to carry, and providing for us in ways we couldn’t fully grasp at the time. He’s hard to read sometimes—guarded, proud, and deeply loyal—but underneath it all is a heart that loves fiercely.
My best friend, who’s ridden every high and low of the roller coaster right beside me—jumper cables in hand—no matter how messy.
I also heal through the wild and the stillness—nature, water, hikes, walks, praying, kayaking, travel, biking, sunsets, painting, meditation, reading, writing. Each act a ceremony. Each moment a reclamation.
And yes, through the symbolic act of purchasing an F150 Lariat—with the help of my parents—after losing my beloved King Ranch in the divorce. A truck, yes. But also a declaration:
I am no longer waiting to be rescued. I drive my own story now.
